We keep it simple.

Other test prep programs teach math and grammar concepts using technical language straight from the textbook. Not at Michael Toohey College Prep.

We pride ourselves in being able to explain complex ideas in simple terms.

SAT Math. Simplified.

It’s a logic test. Not a math test.

You see, the SAT doesn’t test your ability to perform complex mathematical operations. It simply tests your ability to pick the right answer choice. Our tutors realize this. And when students do too, the entire test becomes a lot easier:

*Plug values in for the variables, and you can turn almost any algebra problem into arithmetic.

*Use logic and basic estimation skills for word problems.

*Use visual estimation for the geometry problems.

Use these strategies and the math section becomes a series of puzzles. It’s actually kind of fun. Our tutors sincerely believe this, and we think you will too!

SAT Reading. Simplified.

Let’s not complicate this one.

*Answer the question using evidence in the text.

*Don’t bring in your own opinion or what you think might be reasonable. Focus on the text.

If you are doing it right, you’re just hunting for the answers hidden in every passage. It’s more like “Where’s Waldo” than your typical exam in English class.

SAT Writing and Language. Simplified.

We’ve studied every Writing and Language question on the SAT practice tests, and if there is a grammar rule that applies, it’s on our “Rules for Writing.” They’re written in simple terms ANY student can understand. It’s kind of the “secret sauce” of our SAT tutoring program.

10 Rules. Almost no technical grammar terms. Follow the rules, and you will get a perfect score (or close to it) on the SAT Writing and Language section.

Or go with another test prep company and try to keep your nonrestrictive clauses and your dangling participles straight. Good luck with that.
